Taste of Thailand with Sarah and Joli

Another glimpse at my dish.
Sarah and my meals.
Joli's meal.
We split these dumplings.
Sarah was in NYC this past Wednesday to Sunday looking at law schools, catching up with friends, and celebrating Allie and Nina's birthdays with the crew. Thursday night, after going to the Dead Poet and downing a couple Edgar Allan Poe's (which were way sweeter than I had expected they'd be) with Joli, the three of us walked next door to land. There was a twenty minute late and we were seriously craving Thai, so eventually, we went to the next place up. It ended up being very good and inexpensive, plus we got some free (boxed, I'm sure, but still a plus) wine.

Sandwiches, Sandwiches- Part 2

Horseradish cheddar, jalapenos, and turkey pepperoni toasted on wheat bread.
Turkey, lettuce, horseradish cheddar, jalapenos, and honey mustard on wheat toast.
Genoa salami, scallion cream cheese, and jalapenos on wheat bread.
Some more strange-looking, delcious-tasting sandwiches. I have been on a big jalapeno wave of late.

Heartland Brewery with Will

After my first bass lesson last week, Will and I met up in Union Square to grab dinner and some beer. For some reason, strangers keep giving me flowers during my meals recently. The dude who gave me this rose mistook Will and I for a couple and tried to make Will pay for the flower he bestowed upon me. After calling him out on being a swindler, we took pity on the guy and each threw him a buck. Oh, and I ate a buffalo chicken tenders salad.

Bass n' Bendy

Ben accompanied me to Guitar Center where, with the help of our friend and employee Garrett, I picked up a bass guitar. Afterwards, Ben and I went for some grub around the area. I always forget the name of this place because I still call it The-North-Korean-Place-Haley-Showed-Me (because it is, and she did). Anyway, they give you complementary soup and kimchi with your meal. We both got some Sapporo and the mae un dak (spicy chicken with rice).

An End to President's Weekend and the Start of a Birthday

My buddy Dan was in for a couple nights towards the end of President's Weekend. We went out to hang with him and to ring in Michelle's birthday. After having a dinner of stuffed peppers and toast, the night ended up (per usual) at Moonstruck diner where I ordered corn beef hash and disco fries.

French Roast with Dust

French Roast is usually one of Dustin and my usual brunch spots, as we are both upper west siders. However, Dustin just moved downtown, so we hadn't been there in a while. The Sunday before last, we went there for brunch. We both went for an iced coffee and the special: breakfast quesadillas.
