Easter Dinner

Lucky me, I got another birthday cake: carrot with cream cheese icing.
Blackberry cheesecake.
Carved roast ham.
Pogachka is heavy with a crunchy, glazed crust and an almost pound-cake-like consistency on the inside. It has a slight citrusy taste.
This is an Easter tradition on my mom's side of the family. It's a Croatian Easter bread called pogachka, the recipe has been passed down and both my mother and my aunt make some every year. My mom made about 8 loaves this year.
I forgot to get a picture of this in the tray, but it's zucchini parmesan.
Salad.
Hard-boiled Easter eggs.
Rolls and scallions.
Gina won the Easter Egg Hunt as usual.

BBQ at Haley's

The lovely hostess sporting dessert: key lime pie!
One of my many plates (Haley even cut up fresh jalapenos for me since she knows I love spicy food, thanks Haley!).
Basil and cheddar sausage.
Burgers and doogsss.
This has nothing to do with food but was too cute to leave out: Haley, looking adorable and pretty much the same, circa 2 years old I am guessing.
Asparagus and mayo dip.
Veggiessss.
Haley's signature guacamole accompanied by a multitude of chips (and a few stray beers).

Republic with Lucy, Shannon, and Pauline

My glass noodles with chicken.
Lucy's noodles with beef.
Shannon's (curried chicken soup, perhaps?).
Pauline's: i think it was pad thai (with all the exceptions possible).
Lucy and I split this appetizer. I believe it was fried tofu in a peanut sauce.
Sapporo.
Miss Lucy came to visit NYC for an evening and her, Shannon, Pauline and I went out to dinner. I forget what everyone ordered because it was so long ago so (unless any of these ladies could/would care to remind me) just the pictures for ya! I suck, sorry.

Motel Motel BBQ

Before my friend Erik's band's last show at a house party (dinner number 2 for me).

Ako with Allie and Alex

Dessert: red bean and green tea mochi.
My dinner: Tuna Love Roll.
We shared some edamame.
Allie brought cold sake.

Bodhi Tree with Katie

I had spicy basil rice with tofu.
Katie had pad thai.
Chicken Satay.
We split appetizers: summer rolls.
Forgive me, all four of you who read this! I am so far behind. Here are pictures from last month when I went to a Thai restaurant called Bodhi Tree in the east village with Katie.

Otto with the Fam

My main course: Cheese and mushroom pizza- yum!
Another glance at some of the antipasti.
Cheese platter.
...lentils and pasta with cauliflower.
Some antipasti: 3 types of olives, mushrooms, eggplant, broccoli rabe, asparagus...
Dips for the cheese platter: apricot, truffle honey, and cherry.
For my belated birthday dinner on April 14th, my parents, Gina, and I went out to Otto. It was delicious and filling, per usual. And they have a great wine list, of course.

Chinese Food and Band Practice

A couple weeks ago, Mattie and I ordered in from Pearls to keep us going through our late-night band practice. We split an order of fried pork dumplings, she got the sesame chicken, and I had the diced chicken with cashews in hot pepper sauce.
