Something I put together with some stuff in the fridge a couple weeks ago. Actually an overall healthy meal.

Late Night Onion Rings with Will and Dan

After a night of drinks with Will and Dan, we went to a diner to grab some extra grub. I got these onion rings, and was disappointed to find they were soggy. That, of course, did not stop me from eating them all, and also Dan's hash browns (hey, he didn't want them). Those were crunchy.

Romantic Riot Grrl Valentine's Day with Shan

...and after the Riot Grrl cover show, Shannon and I stopped at a bakery off Bedford to get this scrumptious pistachio cake.

My Dad also got me some delicious Godiva chocolate covered strawberries...

I had whipped up a romantic little friend meal for Shannon and I, consisting of a zucchini and white bean casserole and a salad, before we departed for Brooklyn to catch a Riot Grrl cover show.

Dear Guin managed to swing a reservation at Otto (where she works as a hostess) for her, Mattie, Haley, Hailey, Jordan, and myself the evening before Valentine's Day. Here's a look at our massive tantalizing meal.

Haru with JoJo

Despite the frigid weather, we topped the evening off with some Tasti D-Lite.

My eel-avocado roll and spicy tuna roll. Pretty standard choice for me.

There's JoJo with her spicy tuna and cucumber avocado rolls.

We shared some edamame.

I started off with a house salad with ginger dressing.

JoJo and I had a little catch-up dinner at Haru a few weeks ago.

Pre-Calvin Meal

Alex took care of the main dish: fresh mozzarella with chives served with tomato sauce from scratch over pasta.

I made the salad: baby greens, avocado, craisins, goat cheese, scallions, and jalapeno in an olive oil-lemon dressing.

One of the first conversations to strike up my friendship with Alex was over musician Calvin Johnson (founder of K-Records, among other things). I was super bummed because I had to miss him play on February 10th in Montauk, but luckily, he was playing again the following night in Brooklyn with Chain&the Gang. Alex doubled up on Calvin shows and went again with me and her friend Allegra, who actually organized the Montauk show. Before we went to see him play, Alex and I caught up and Allegra and I became acquainted over a nice home-cooked meal.

Radioactive Riots

A very crazy series of events took place after Erin downed this radioactive-looking drink (that tasted like a non-frozen pina colada, in my opinion) alongside Sarah B. and I at a tiki bar in alphabet city. The events actually had nothing to do with Erin's consumption of this beverage, but I thought the thing looked pretty cool.
